Nifty Collections AniGif Maker V2.3
FAQ
I have a very large collection - will all the products appear in the animation?
▼
No. A maximum of 30 will be used. If there are fewer than that in the collection,
then they'll all get used.
Can I speed up or slow down the animation?
▼
No. An optimum delay is set of 2 seconds between product images. This is a balance
between it being slow enough to give a viewer the chance to see the design but not
so slow that they get bored and move on without clicking!
Can I choose the order in which the products appear in the animation?
▼
Only in a roundabout way.
You'd need to change the order that they appear in the collection and wait for
Zazzle to reindex it.
When it has, the new order will be reflected in Zazzle's RSS feed mechanism,
and that's what's used to pull them in sequence into the animation.
Yes
When you hit the bookmarklet, you get a dialog box showing the
different layout options.
There's 3 each for portrait and landscape orientation animations with the
product image that changes being shown in the middle or the left/right/top/bottom
Just choose the one you want and enter its number in the box provided.
If you pay a Nifty subscription then yes, it's used in all links (applies both to normal and
promototer program subscriptions).
If you don't pay a subscription, then at the toss of a computer coin, either yours gets used
or mine does. On average, yours will be used in half the links.
This is known as a 50/50 referral split and helps to pay for the Nifty web server.
Can I get clean links suitable for the Zazzle Promoter Program?
▼
Not automatically.
It's because sometimes a collection refers to a member and sometimes to a
store but there's just not enough information to tell programtically when it would be right to
use clean links for a given user. Better to get 15% than nothing!
Of course, when posting to facebook you can edit the link yourself to make it clean, if that's
what you want.
What happened to the Pansci bookmarklet?
▼
It's been withdrawn because the automatic way that Pinterest provides for making Pins
(and that this tool used) puts them in your Saved section. When you make
them by hand (recommended) they go in your Created section where Pinterest
gives them far, far more exposure. (see next question/answer)
Can I use this tool to pin manually on Pinterest?
▼
Yes, in a roundabout way. To pin manually, you need to save the animation to your
desktop and then drag that to the new pin you're creating. Unfortunately, when it's done that
way, it won't animate.
But there is a workaround. What you do is convert the animated gif file to an
mp4 video and that will animate on Pinterest. I use and recommend convertio (opens in a new tab)
So to do this, first, you need to get the animation and the text to go with it. So instead
of using the Pansci bookmarklet (now withdrawn), use the Fansci one. When you've set up any
options how you want:
- right-click and save the animation to your desktop
- start creating your new pin
- convert the animation to mp4 at the link above and download the resulting mp4 to your desktop
- drag that mp4 video to the pin
- edit the text you're given in the box on the animation creation page to how you want it
- change the word facebook in the tracking code (tc=) to pinterest
NB tracking codes can take only lowercase letters, digits and the underscore character
- add any hashtags you want - use no more than, say, five
- copy the text for the title and paste it into your pin
- copy the text for the description and paste it
- copy and paste the link text
- hit publish
- choose your board
You're done! You'll find your pin in the Created section and you should expect
lots of impressions and engagements
Can I use this tool to share on X (formerly Twitter)?
▼
Yes. Use the Fansci bookmarklet and follow the same manual process as for Facebook.
Just make sure that you change the tracking code to show it's from X and not Facebook!
Is there a tutorial?
▼
Yes, it's here: tutorial

What has changed in V2.1?
▼
V2.1 tweaks the order of the images in the collage. Now the first four images appear in the
collage as small images and are in the same order as they appear in your collection.
What has changed in V2.2?
▼
This version is the first that lets you set options to enhance your animation.
- You can have up to two lines of text and they can either be animated or static
- The position of the text varies depending on the template you've chosen
- You can choose the size of text that's used: small, medium, large or auto
- You can use emojis in the text as well
- There are a variety of fonts for you to chose from
The text animation is always a scrolling effect except in the case of the horizontal template
with the animating image in the center. For that template, the text is static but fades in and
out. That effect was chosen because there was no position where scrolling would work effectively.
How do I use the options panel?
▼
Click the button labelled stop and set options. The options panel will open and
generation of the current animation will stop.
When you've set things the way you want, click the generate button to
start over, generating the animation with your chosen options.
Note that once you've clicked the stop and set options button there's no way to
continue. The only choice you have at this point is to hit the generate button
or to close the tab.
What happens if I don't set any options?
▼
If you don't set any options then no text will be used.
What has changed in V2.3?
▼
V2.3 brings you 250 different calls to action that you can randomly choose to use for your
animated or static text. You don't have to use them, you can still write your own if you want.
There's a new button that selects one at random and adds it to the Text Lines 1 and 2 boxes for
you.
Almost all of the include XYZ as stand-in text for the product / theme you're using in your
animation, so you'll need to change that to suit.
The length of the calls to action have been kept down so that when you use the auto font size
option, they'll still be big enough to be readable for most of the available fonts.
What has changed in V2.4?
▼
1) The Pansci bookmarklet has been withdrawn (see the detailed FAQ above for why)
2) Due to some changes on Pinterest, the mechanism for making the animation needed to be
updated. The changes made were "under the hood" so you shouldn't notice any difference.
